The DE SANTOS GALLERY was a project of Luis and Gemma de Santos, long time residents
of Houston and supporters and collectors of Photography.The Gallery was dedicated
exclusively to photography in all its forms.
In 2003 the Gallery opened its doors in a brand new white stucco building designed by local
architect Fernando Brave and built by Virkus Construction.The building won several
Architectural Awards for Building of the Year and Best Small Business building in the following
three years.The building will be featured in a book to be published in 2019.The building is
located in Richmond Ave ,near the University of Saint Thomas and the Houston Museum
District.
The Gallery exhibited photographers from United Stated and International with particular
attention to Spanish photographers.The Gallery promoted Photography by hosting lectures
and photographic events as well as regular exhibits every six weeks.The Gallery was one year
the host of the Houston Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and had several
exhibits on Architectural Photography by renown Architectural Photographers.
After ten years of operation the Gallery closed its physical doors in 2014 to move to other
ventures.
The Gallery is still available on line and may make available images from some of the
represented photographers
